It is too little emphasis on security in today's networks, and is reflected in the Cisco certification tracks. Cisco offers the CCIE Security track and the Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) intermediate level qualifications, but there is no real equivalent to the CCNA on the security side. Instead, Cisco offers several different Associate security certificates.

What is SSL and VPN?

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol developed by Netscape to secure transmission of data between the client and server. It was soon adopted by, among others Microsoft Internet Explorer and other leading Internet browsers, providing a secure means to transact data in encrypted form on the web, most commonly seen with e-commerce sites with credit card payments for purchases.
